![]() They're just so natural with one another, they keep the movie interesting even when they're coming up dry on the paranormal front. But that's not a bad thing, the story is interesting and both Claire and Luke share some hilarious banter. It's more like a lighthearted thriller, like something you'd find on network TV. For most of the runtime it doesn't even really feel like a horror movie. The Innkeepers is such a fun quirky little horror. They've been desperate to catch some kind of proof of Madeline's existence for years and these last days are their last shot. And it's no coincidence that Claire and Luke, both amateur paranormal investigators, work here. The Yankee Peddlar is said to be haunted by the ghost of Madeline O'Malley, a woman who hung herself in her hotel room ages ago. ![]() Sara Paxton gave a brave performance in The Last House on the Left remake (reviewed here: The Last House on The Left (2009) Film Review) and I am looking forward to what she does here.It's the final days in business for the historic, dilapidated, Yankee Peddlar Inn and front desk clerks Claire and Luke are pulling double shifts until the doors shut.
